Group Sizeโ
At startups, this can be company-wide. At larger companies it should be focused on the builders of the project, plus the team lead.
Goalโ
The most important task is Setting (or re-stating the existing) Goal for the week. This should not change each day, but its repeated at the beginning to remind people to stay focused as a group.

Team Building
If you are a new team it may be a good idea to start standup with an icebreaker. I like to use the "question of the day" that folks have to answer as part of their turn in standup.

 - Which sport is your LEAST favorite to watch?
